If there ever was a time requiring International interference, it is now in Syria. As a bloodbath may be imminent in Homs and this city may well experience a destiny similar to that of Hama, almost 30 years ago; as testimonies of crimes against humanity performed by the regime accumulate, the world should not sit aside and accept the advise of those calling for non-intervention. The fragmented Syrian opposition needs external help. The evolving Free Syrian Army needs external help, and needs the type of military aid that restored a balance between Libyan rebels and Gaddafi-loyalists. Such interventions are needed now for Homs may become a symbol, and learning from Syria's past, this country needs a symbol of success in the stand against tyrrany. Not another symbol for martyrdom.
