Haaretz brings the story of Hassan Hijazi, 28 year old civil servant from Syria, who took part in the demonstrations near the border between Israel and Syria which reached a violent breaking of the fence. Like others, he used the fallen fence to cross over into Israel, but unlike others, he was able to make his way from the Golan Heights to Jaffa, Travelling in the wish to see his family's former house and residence.
I've expressed in another post my views regarding the ideological and Strategic decisions both sides to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should reach, and thus can allow myself to indulge on the positive side of this story: may it be the first tale of many, of tourists from both sides, travelling to see the parts of their homeland that were given to the other side in a final peace treaty.
